We secured a development loan from a challenger bank on our panel, for a new, branded hotel development in a provincial city. This was a complex structure, involving many parties including investors, senior debt providers and mezzanine finance.

“In 2019 Castlebridge had a well-advanced hotel opportunity ready to move forward, but with the onset of the global Covid pandemic, the development was paused for a period of time. The development had planning permission for a 100-bedroom Hotel Indigo which has now increased to 101 bedrooms. The funding market was the most challenging it had been for a very long time. We engaged with Sarah Green from Hotel Finance in 2020 who secured a loan facility for our construction phase and operating the hotel. The Hotel Indigo in Coventry started onsite in July 2021 and is due to open in late 2023. The hotel will provide a boutique hotel experience in Coventry with an independent bar and restaurant.
